The first shipment of 10 tons of Son La province’s red-flesh dragon fruit was destined for Russia on July 23 after successfully exported a large amount of mango and longan to China, Australia, the U.S. and the EU.
Secretary of Thuan Chau district’s Party Committee Nguyen Minh Tien said that the district aims to expand the farming area of red dragon fruit to 150-200ha in the 2020-2025 period.
The exports have helped the farmers avoid a season with bountiful crops but low prices and expanded the markets for local fruits.
In addition, this is good news for local farmers, opening up export opportunities to many fastidious markets across the world.
